Voice Command on Experia.

Postby xanadu » Sat Dec 06, 2008 3:55 pm

I would love to get caller id on my experia but the small print below the sales pitch for voice command states "Incoming caller ID announcements will be spoken via the phone speaker on Sony Ericsson Xperia X1s with a Windows Mobile build prior to 15097.3.0.0. "

Any ideas how to find the build number.

Start > Settings > System > About

It will list something like:

Code: Select all
Windows Mobile 6.x Professional

CE OS 5.2.xxxx (Build xxxxx.x.x.x)

This is the build for WM that they are referring to, not Voice Command...as it doesn't have build numbers in that range.

I hold it like a microphone - that also helps with the noise cancelling microphone on the back of the phone. And while I haven't had a lot of experience with GPS devices (the last one I used was a Tom Tom in the US) they didn't speak street names. But who can read street signs anyway - I would prefer to know when to turn and in what direction.

BTW I found a link to a site that tells you how to put your own voice (or your loved one's) voice in Copilotlive if you want to have a more familiar voice telling where to go!
